Remove an Old Version of AVG

CLOSE ALL OPEN PROGRAMS FIRST

Before installing the new version of AVG (Version 8.0) you must uninstall the old version.  Immediately below are directions to do that removal.  Once you have removed the  older version be sure and reboot your computer before starting the install of the new version.

Got Start then click on Control Panel

In the list on the next screen pick Add or Remove Programs

Select AVG Free from the list.  (You maybe have to scroll down a little to find it depending on what you have installed.)  Then click on Change/Remove Button.

You will get an information screen like this showing some progress.

On the next screen be sure and check Remove user settings and Including objects in the Virus Vault (you may or may not have these two check boxes.  If you don’t don’t worry about it.)

You w ill see another progress screen.

You will get this screen once the uninstall is complete.

BE SURE AND LET THE SOFTWARE REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER!!
